Elephant Parade in London

May 2, 2010 by Kay

Tomorrow the city of London will be adorned with 250 brightly painted life-size elephant sculptures in London's biggest outdoor art event on record. The Elephant Parade is to raise awareness of the endangered Asian elephant and has been organised by The Elephant Family, a charity dedicated to ceasing the extinction of these creatures.

Each elephant will be uniquely designed and decorated by artists hoping to raise a total of £2 million for the Asian elephants and other conservation charities. All of the works are for sale at two live auctions in June and July at Chelsea Royal Hospital. Or buy a miniature elephant at one of the four pop-up shops in London at Selfridges, 80 Regent Street, 36 Carnaby Street and Greenwich Central Market.

You can visit the elephants around London until July 2010, or do it all in one day and get yourself a route map, available to download from 3rd May.

For more information visit the Elephant Parade website.
