9th-15th October 2012
New Sensations, B1, Victoria House, Bloomsbury, London
Antonio Marguet was one of the 20 shortlisted artists whose work will be in the New Sensations exhibition opening today. There were over 800 entries this year, the highest number since the prize started in 2007, so it is an incredible achievement to be shortlisted by the prestigious panel of judges.
The judges have also chosen four finalists from the shortlist of 20. They will each be given a bursary to make a new work to present at the exhibition and they will be invited to work with Channel 4 to make a short film about their work which will be aired in October.
New Sensations was launched in 2007 to find and support the most imaginative and talented artists graduating in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Since it was started five years ago the Prize has given young graduates many opportunities - they have sold their work, been taken on by galleries, invited to be in exhibitions both in the UK and internationally, and shortlisted for other prizes as a result of their work being seen in the New Sensations exhibition.
