Ashley Bickerton at Gothenburg Museum of Art in Sweden

June 6, 2011 by Kay

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND TELL ME WHAT YOU SEE 1st June - 21st August 2011 Gothenburg Museum of Art, Sweden

Close your eyes and tell me what you see is a group exhibition of international contemporary art. Some fifty artists from ten different countries are participating, including Ashley Bickerton. Common to them all is an interest in sight, perception, landscape and materiality. A recurring theme in the exhibition is the relationship between seeing and understanding, between sight and the world. Several of the works also treat of the dizzy-making – vertigo, visual disorders, hallucinations. The project is presented in collaboration with the Stiftelsen Pro Artibus and À…bo, Cultural Capital of Europe 2011.
