100 Painters of Tomorrow: Beers Contemporary London

November 28, 2014 by Ishah

Exhibiting together for the first time, the work of a hundred internationally-based painters collaborate together to offer intriguing insights into the state of painting today. The exhibition entitled '100 Painters of Tomorrow' draws on each artists personal insight into their thinking and creative practices. Showing at Beers Contemporary, London on the 28th November until the 17th of January.

Beers Contemporary presents an eclectic variety paintings each expressing extraordinary styles and techniques. Paintings vary between abstraction, figuration, minimalism, performance and installation-based painting. Adam Dix is one of the artists to show at '100 Painters of Tomorrow'.

Dix is concerned with the association between communication technology and our desire to communicate, by analysing the response to, and subsequent personification of the objects of modern communication. Dix investigates the similar traits found in the genres of science fiction and religion, while exploring ideas of ritual and ceremony with respect to how we engage with communication technology. This has led to the production of several works that invite the viewer to engage in a secular celebration. A festival of communication, presided over by a Shamanic custodian that acts as a conduit between audience and subject.
