Embracing and exploring the rich relationship between fashion and art, Nomenus Quarterly is a bi-annual book showcasing work from a variety of new and established artists. In the words of its editor, Erik Madigan Heck, Nomenus is centred around the “hope of creating something truly beautiful”.

Presented here, in a plush limited edition folio, are 18 photographs featured in issue 3 of the quarterly. Printed on 190gm William Turner paper, the images range from Antonio Diaz’s demented, mutilated drawings, to Jamie Isaia’s dewy, dreamlike photographic narratives. Elsewhere, the imagery flickers from eeriness – in Deborah Turbeville’s monochrome portraits and landscapes – to splendour – in Erik Madigan Heck’s delicate take on recent collections by Yohji Yamamoto and Rodarte.

Erik Madigan Heck

Erik Madigan Heck is the founding editor of art and fashion publication Nomenus Quarterly.

Nomenus Quarterly is a collaborative publication and platform, working with artists of all mediums and disciplines within the worlds of fine arts and fashion. It is published online four times per year, and additionally in print as a series of limited edition folios and books.

Nomenus was conceived initially as a location where commercial artists could be viewed in a more personal and intimate manner, focusing on the physical act of creation, and utilizing a more classical cannon of aesthetics. All works presented in nomenus are created for each edition, or are previously unpublished.

The limited edition folios are presented internationally in an edition of 50 copies per issue, with original German etching prints bound in a numbered box. Each issue differs in terms of quantity of prints, and respective price. All folios are printed by hand in New York.
