Armed Forces : Louise Bourgeois | Alex van Gelder

February 23, 2011 by Georgia

Louise Bourgeois's hands are the subjects of portraits taken by Dutch artist Alex Van Gelder. At Bourgeois's invitation, Van Gelder photographed her at her New York townhouse during the last year of her life. The resulting portfolio of eighteen photographic prints, which are stunning, fascinating and humbling, will be on display at Hauser & Wirth, Zürich until 14 May 2011.
