NOT (an exhibition) - in association with HUH.

June 11, 2011 by Georgia

Until 30 June 2011

Print House Gallery
18 Ashwin Street
London E8 3DL

NOT (an exhibition) is, as the name may not suggest, an exhibition. It opened on Wednesday in a small and nicely busy gallery space in East London, atmospherically fueled by free beer and an extraordinary roof party. The latter unfortunately made the attention slightly shift away from the art but it did brilliantly enhance the beautiful evening after another day of psycho London weather.

The show marks the launch of No Way, an independent press & publicity agency who represents artists, musicians, small creative enterprises, galleries and shops. This may sound like just another PR business but No Way's founder and director Charlotte Jansen is eager to state that her company is supposed to do the opposite of the usual PR companies who 'put an overly-upbeat spin on everything, and just bore everyone with it.' No Way is supposed to be more honest, more real and therefore undoubtedly more interesting.

As becomes visible in the show, No Way does not work with entirely new artists - the aim of the enterprise is to offer a better platform for already established artists, to enable them to focus solely on making art. Providing PR for art's sake, so to speak.

To get a taste of the artists currently represented by No Way we've added the images below. More information can be found on the No Way website and if you want to see the real thing obviously make a visit to the Print House Gallery. The show runs until the end of the month.
