In previous years the annual sculpture exhibition has included works by artists such as Anthony Gormley, Anish Kapoor, Cerith Wyn-Evans, Lynn Chadwick, and Ryan Gander, all of which were installed in and amongst the City's skyscrapers.

This year it has been announced that iconic artists Damien Hirst and Ai Weiwei will be showing their sculptural work amongst other participants from all over the world these include; Adam Chodzko, Ceal Floyer and Laura Ford from the UK, Xavier Veilhan from France, Kris Martin from Belgium, Ekkehard Altenburger from Germany, Folkert de Jong from the Netherlands, Sigalit Landau based in Israel, Shan Hur from Korea, Keita Miyazaki and Tomoaki Suzuki from Japan and Bruce Beasley from the USA.

Sculpture in the City is a unique collaboration between the City of London Corporation (the elected body which looks after the Square Mile global business district around St Paul’s), local businesses and the art world, providing the opportunity to engage new audiences with established and emerging contemporary artists. Its aim is to enhance our urban environment with cutting-edge contemporary works from leading artists sited in both busy thoroughfares and quieter, green spaces. “Love them or hate them, they will enliven your emotions and make walking round the City a better experience.” Robert Hiscox, Honorary President of city company, Hiscox.

The fifteen artworks will be seen against a backdrop of some of the oldest and newest architecture – as the one of the oldest parts of London, the city sees 16th century buildings crammed in next to brand new skyscrapers the exhibition will open on the 9th of July 2015.
